CAI Chengsi/ Associate

Jason Cai is an associate of RICC & CO. He has achieved a bachelor’s degree in English and Law from Shandong University and a master’s degree in law from Fudan University and Washington University in St. Louis.

He has acquired the TEM 8 certificate (the highest for English majors) and the Chinese lawyer license.

Jason Cai specializes in Legal services regarding cross-border E-commerce, foreign-related investment and foreign-related dispute resolution. He participates in projects in the cross-border E-commerce industry, Chip development, Technology Telecom etc.

  • Representative Cases

    •Providing legal services regarding the operational compliance and new market launching of Overseas E-commerce platforms of Byte Dance company as the outside counsel of the cross-border E-commerce legal department of Byte Dance company (i.e. TikTok).  

    •Participated in the overseas investment project of a chip enterprise in Shanghai. Assisted in the design of the company's overseas structure construction and domestic financing plan, and handled and assisted relevant domestic and foreign procedures (including but not limited to ODI procedures, overseas SPV company establishment procedures, etc.) 

    •Participated in the acquisition of an Indian company by a Chinese-funded technology telecom company. Conducted research on compliance issues related to transactions under the restrictions of foreign businessmen in Indian law, assisted the host lawyers to draft relevant transaction documents and participated in commercial negotiations. 

    •Assisted an energy technology company in Ningbo to file an overseas contract dispute lawsuit in the Commercial Court of Ahmedabad, India. 

    •Participated in the equity transfer project of an Indian subsidiary of a textile enterprise in Henan. Assisted the Indian lawyer in drafting relevant transaction documents, participating in commercial negotiations, and completing subsequent equity delivery procedures under Indian regulations.
